Filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman is seeking actors to fill speaking and singing roles in the film “Poultrygeist”. Contenders have to be willing to work for free because the entire film has a budget of only $500,000. The movie will tell the story of a fast-food chicken restaurant that opens on an ancient burial ground, unleasing the wrath of the dead. Kaufman is famous for creating the 1985 film “The Toxic Avenger.”

Supreme Court justice’s home may be seized for development

A critic of abusive government has proposed seizing Supreme Court justice David Souter’s rural farmhouse in New Hampshire in order to develop a hotel. Souter voted in favor of a Supreme Court decision last week that allows local governments to seize private property for private development, if doing so would benefit a community.

National Weather Service employee struck by lightning

A worker was injured when a National Weather Service bureau was struck by lightning Wednesday morning. The NWS employee took an indirect hit while working inside the building. The man was taken to the hospital as a precaution but plans to be back at work Thursday.

Kangaroo on the loose in Indiana

Animal control officials are searching for a kangaroo that has been seen hopping around South Bend, Indiana. A nearby zoo says all of their animals are accounted for. The South Bend Regional Airport was contacted to see if a kangaroo might have gotten loose from a shipment, but no kangaroo shipments have been noted lately.

Scientists bring dogs back from the dead

Scientist have brought clinically dead dogs back to life after three hours using a new technique. To kill the animals, they replaced the animals’ veins of blood and filled them with ice-cold saline solution to preserve the tissues and organs. To bring the animals back, they replaced the saline with fresh blood. Electric shocks were used to restart the heart.

Voice of Piglet, John Fiedler, dead at 80

John Fiedler, who is best known for providing the voice of Piglet in Winnie the Pooh movies and television shows, died Saturday at the age of 80. Fiedler was a veteran of movies, broadway and television.

Voice of Tigger, Paul Winchell, dead at 82

Paul Winchell, the voice of Tigger in Winnie the Pooh stories, has died at the age of 82. Winchell was also famous for being a ventriloquist and inventor. Winchell’s inventions include an artificial heart, a flameless cigarette lighter, and an invisible garter belt.
