Company introduces sauerkraut martini

An Ohio sauerkraut maker has introduced a martini featuring a sauerkraut-filled olive they are callling the “K-Tini.” They recently tested the sauerkraut martinis at a nightclub and parties are planned in Miami and New York. To make a K-Tini, stuff a green olive with sauerkraut, marinate overnight in vermouth, add vodka and shake.

Elephants rob tapioca truck

Wild elephants in Thailand found a delivery truck with a flat tire and ate all the tapioca the truck was carrying. The driver had gone for help to repair the tire. When he returned, elephants had surrounded his truck and were busy devouring its contents.

11-year-old opens coal stand

11-year-old Alec Nystrom is selling lumps of coal for 50 cents each from a stand in front of his California home. So far he’s made about $100 towards a dirt bike he wants to buy.

Sheriff’s deputy caught peeing in elevator

A sheriff’s deputy in Florida was videotaped urinating in a public parking garage elevator while still in uniform. The manager had placed a surveillance camera in the elevator after passengers had complained about the smell. The deputy was fired but temporarily reinstated when he appealed the decision.

Girl suspended for Jell-O

A fourth-grader was suspended from school for bringing Jell-O cups to school. The girl was suspended after administrators said the treats she brought for friends resembled alcoholic Jell-O shots. In accordance with school policy, the student must submit to drug tests and undergo assessment and counseling.

Shrink pays fine with feces-covered bills

A psychiatrist who police say smeared excrement on dollars bills used to pay a parking ticket has been fined $250. The man was charged with harassment of a public official after officials received an envelope labeled “Foreign brown substance on bills.” Tests indicated the brown substance was fecal matter. Tests indicated the brown substance was feces that had been smeared on the bills.

New law allows sale of horse meat

The recently passed spending bill is also opening the door for Americans to sell wild horses and burros for meat. Among its provisions is one letting people sell wild horses that could be used as meat in other countries. The law applies to horses more than 10 years old, or younger horses which have been passed over for adoption three times.
