Researchers at Munich’s Ludwig-Maximilians University found that babies delivered by Caesarian section were more likely to have diarrhea and were twice as likely to be allergic to cows’ milk and other food. One theory is that babies born vaginally may pick up bacteria from the mother’s vagina, intestine and anal area.

Indianapolis woman has been sentenced to a year and a half in prison for letting her five year old son smoke crack cocaine. The child has recovered and is now in the care of foster family.

The New York City Parks Department cracked down on vendors serving skewered guinea pigs at an Ecuadorian festival recently. The dish served at the festival featured salad, potatoes, rice and skewered cuy — a type of guinea pig but a little larger than pet guinea pigs. New York state allows the dish, but New York City does not based on a vague health code.

A Jacksonville, Florida, television news anchor was arrested on prostitution charges Thursday. Darryl Tardy allegedly asked an undercover sheriff’s deputy to prove he wasn’t in law enforcement by exposing himself. WLTV, the TV station where Tardy is employed, had no comment on the arrest.
