A 13-year-old girl in Michigan created a stir by carving a pumpkin featuring an obscene greeting. Local police decided the offending pumpkin could be removed if it created a disturbance but the family at the home eventually chucked the jack-o-lantern in the trash themselves.

A Bronx man got his arm stuck in the toilet on a train after his cell phone fell in. Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to cut through the toilet. The cell phone was never found.

A disabled man was not allowed on a commercial flight in Chile because the pilot thought his artificial hand could be used as a weapon. The traveler offered to leave the hand behind but the Lan Chile airlines pilot still refused to allow him on the flight.

Two Louisiana men were arrested Tuesday after stealing nine rolls of pennies from a house. The men, both 20, allegedly broke a window to get into the dwelling. No other items were taken.

A British tourist in Italy fell through a hole that appeared in the steps of an escalator and was crushed to death. An Italian man who tried to help her was also pulled into the machinery and may have to have his legs amputated.

A Michigan city manager apparently lied about his credentials for the past three years in order to get a position teaching ethics at Oakland University. The person in question has admitted recently that he did not possess a college degree, a requirement for the job.
