Citizens along the Boston Marathon route in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, are complaining of runners urinating on lawns, dropping shorts to rub down private parts, and discarding soiled toilet paper and tampons in their yards. One of the Selectmen in charge of the run was disappointed the residents complained explaining “some of this may be commonplace in other cultures.”
A Scottish man rolled about on the ground having sex with a traffic cone as stunned youths watched in disbelief, a court was told in Edinburgh Sheriff Court. The man was found guilty and is scheduled to be sentenced in four weeks.
A 30-second food fight at a Hilliard, Ohio, high school led to five students being suspended and charged with disorderly conduct. One student said the fight had been planned for two weeks and he just found out about it the morning it happened.
The Colorado State Patrol is awaiting the results of tests to determine whether alcohol played a role in an automobile accident that killed a 15-year-old girl only 10 minutes after she had gotten her driver’s permit. Investigators say the vechicle was traveling at twice the posted speed limit prior to the crash.
A high school baseball game in Illinois was delayed Monday when a hawk dropped a dead rabbit on the field. A coach was hit on the foot but wasn’t injured.
Alan Thicke, the former star of the hit comedy “Growing Pains,” lost five teeth and required 30 stitches after getting hit in the face with a hockey puck. Thicke will require extensive dentalwork and possibly reconstructive surgery to repair the damage.
The 163-year-old Gillies Coffee Company is considering leaving Brooklyn after being fined $400 for polluting the air with the smell of roasted coffee. If the city doesn’t relent on the issue the owners are threatening to a more coffee-friendly place.
