A 6-year-old has been placed in foster care after her father tried to sell her for money to purchase alcohol. The man took the girl to a party store and tried to get customers to buy her $50. A worker in the store notified police.
Samuel Greenbaum, 58, was on his way to perform a ritual Jewish circumcision on an infant when he was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence. He is scheduled to appear at a pretrial hearing Monday. Greenbaum is also charged with failure to undergo a Breathalyzer test.
The arrest stunned the baby’s parents and a gathering of 70 family members and friends who were on hand to witness the traditional Jewish circumcision, called a bris.
A man who operated a lawnmower while drunk was sentenced to a year in jail after showing up intoxicated for his court-ordered community service.
The man’s blood alcohol level of .09 was under New York’s legal limit of .10, but abstaining from alcohol was a condition of his probation.
Police thought a bank robbery suspect was holed up in a Kirkland, Washington, bank Wednesday morning but after four hours determined noone was inside the building.
Early in the morning a female bank employee was held hostage. The woman was able to activate silent alarm. Two police officers responded, but left when everything looked okay. Two more employees arrived and called police when they sensed something was wrong. This time the cops ran into the first employee who had escaped.
Police, sheriff’s deputies and the FBI surrounded the bank, shut down area businesses and diverted traffic. After four hours, they went inside and found the bank was empty.
Members of the animal-rights terrorist group Animal Liberation Front broke into an Iowa mink farm over the weekend, releasing hundreds of the animals. About half the animals were recovered, while others were run over by traffic or killed by dogs.
Four men died in Saudi Arabia after drinking eau de cologne containing poisonous methanol. The deaths took place last week just north of Abha where police seized dozens of bottles of cologne.
A pharmacy worker has been fired for putting an obscene message on a woman’s pill bottle. The prescription label read: “Insert ONE into p***y when pleasure is required”.
The owners of Feltham Night and Day Chemists in West London have apologised to the woman who received the obscene message.
