Two people in Sanoma County, California, have been attacked by jack rabbits. A rabbit bounced up to Musician Doug Bowes who, thinking it was a domesticated rabbit, reached down to pet it. The rabbit lunged, biting him on the hand. A neighbor had to run away from another aggressive jack rabbit.
Bowes is continuing rabies treatments while the rabbit is tested for the disease.
Max Twiner, 69, and his wife Virginia, 68, were struck and killed by a freight train in Mississippi. Tuesday, his leg was found stuck in a freight car 700 miles away in Harvey, Illinois, near Chicago.

A garbage truck driver was impaled on a metal pipe after it pierced the cabin of his vehicle. The accident occurred as the man drove through a partially opened gate at a Harvey Norman store at Aspley, on Brisbane’s northside.
“A piece of galvanised pipe penetrated just above the knee and came out through his buttocks,” a spokesman for the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service said.
Rescue workers used hacksaws to cut the pipe and he was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.
He was in a serious but stable condition, the spokeswoman said.
Police serving a murder warrant on Norris Christopher Baggitt at Fayetteville State University found an armed robbery at a dormitory in which one student was shot in the hand. The police successfully captured two of the five armed robbers who were preying on students in the dorm. Police continue to search for the other three.
The student who was wounded, Frederick Johnson, suffered a bullet wound to a finger. He became even more unlucky when investigators found marijuana, a gun and other weapons in his room, and arrested hime and his roommate, Atif Jamar Davis.
