A man in Swansea, Wales, died during a cake eating contest at a local pub Friday. Police have notified the next of kin and report nothing suspicious about the death.

A 7-months pregnant woman smashed a beer bottle over a bartender’s head after the bartender refused to serve her another drink. After that the 30-year-old followed up the bottle attack by smashing a glass over the female bartender’s head. Surgeons used 2 staples and 28 stitches to reattach part of the bartender’s ear. Link

Saudi Arabia is planning to execute a witch on Thursday and human rights groups are hoppin’ mad about it. The court which sentenced her is sure of her guilt as several people testified the woman “betwitched” them. The accused woman claims she couldn’t read the confession she was made to fingerprint because she’s illiterate.

The 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals has declared the Texas ban on sex toys unconstitutional. The court declared the law violated the 14th Amendment’s right to privacy. The court cited 2003’s Supreme Court case Lawrence and Garner v. Texas which struck down a ban on same-sex banging. A Pennsylvania family is suing the Delaware County SPCA for mistakenly euthanising their cat and then lying about the circumstances. The cat disappeared from the family’s home and was picked up by an animal control officer. They went to the animal shelter and saw their cat through the window but because it was closed at the time they had to leave phone messages that they were coming for it.

Well, on this particular day someone at the shelter had killing the animals higher up on their priorites than checking phone messages. Realizing their mistake they panicked and made up a story that the cat bit a worker and they had to cut off its head for rabies testing. The shelter’s directory called ten days later with the full story. The family is seeking $50,000 in compensation. Link

A judge declared a mistrial in the case of the woman accused of killing her baby in a microwave oven. A 15-year-old surprise defence witness who is said to have been in the house at the time of the incident gave testimony that led to the mistrial. Link

Workers at Northeast High School in Philadelphia were treated to the sight of 50 chickens roaming the halls Monday morning. Thinking quickly, a farmer was brought in to take the chickens away, while maintenance workers scrubbed the the feed and the higher than normal level of poop off the floors. Students will be cheered to hear that police are viewing surveillance tapes to find the perps involved.
