Animals freeze to death in Italian zoo located in snow-covered mountains
Dozens of exotic animals, including zebras, camels, parrots, lamas, boa constrictors, toucans and ostriches, are reported to have frozen to death or fled a zoo built in the snow-covered mountains of southern Italy. The zoo, which is now closed, is coming under fire for its treatment of the animals. The concept of having a zoo featuring tropical animals in such a cold climate is also being debated.
