Chirac tells eastern Europe they have no rights and to ’shut up’
French President Jacques Chirac attacked eastern European countries Tuesday, saying they missed a great opportunity to “shut up” when they backed the U.S. position on Iraq. He also implied that their petitions for membership in the European Union may be jeapordized by their desire to think independently of France.
