At least six people were trampled to death by a herd of elephants that went amok after getting drunk on rice beer in northeast India. The elephants broke into granaries and smashed open casks to drink the rice beer prior to the attack. In the last two years, elephants have killed at least 150 people. Villagers have killed up to 200 of the elephants.
