Drug hobbit on the set
Nathan Crombie, who plays an orc in the Lord of the Rings movies admits to getting high on the set every day of shooting. He says because of the nature of the costumes and makeup it was easier not to get caught because fellow actors couldn’t smell very well. The filming took place in New Zealand where, Crombie says, the local dope called thunderweed provided quite an impact. “New Zealand has some of the strongest grass in the world,” he says.
