Man paralyzed by baked potato
A 35-year-old Meaford, Ontario, man was almost totally paralyzed after contracting botulism from eating a foil wrapped baked potato last July. He remains in the hospital where he is connected to a ventilator for all but 25 minutes a day. Doctors say he could make a full recovery but that the process will take years. A health official cautioned the public that foil wrapped baked potatoes should never be left at room temperature.
