A Massachusetts man was fined $2,800 after he discarded radioactive cat feces in the trash. The cat had been treated with an injection of radioiodine after developing hyperthyroidism. The man ignored his veterinarian’s order to discard the feces down the toilet because he was afraid it would clog his system. The waste was discovered at an incinerator by radiation sensors.
