New York wants giant ray gun to evaporate garbage
New York leaders are hoping to obtain a giant “ray gun” that would vaporize garbage into thin air to help solve the world’s worst trash-disposal crisis.
Such zappers are already used in Europe and Japan and on most cruise ships. The technology - known as plasma conversion or gassification produces more electricity than it consumes.
