Jeffrey Scheu, 36, was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges of failure to pay child support at an Idaho Falls hospital. Scheu had been recovering after being mauled by a bear last month while hiking with other animal activists.

Scheu owes $23,000 in child support in Ohio. Child support enforcement workers had been trying to track him down for two years.
