One size fits all
Baton Rouge’s The Advocate reports the sad tale of Joyce Darville’s funeral service. At the end of the service, her family watched in horror as funeral home workers attempted to hammer the lid closed on her coffin. They were trying to sandwich her into a casket that was smaller that the family had ordered. Joyce was buried a few days late. Because of her weight, between 450 and 500 pounds, a backhoe was used to lower her into the ground. This time, the funeral parlor failed to have enough employees on hand and the woman’s family had to help lower her into the ground.
