Bear-proof suit not quite ready
New Scientist reports that Troy Hurtubise has designed a would-be grizzly-proof suit. In testing, it was somewhat effective in scaring away a female bear by its odd appearance. A male Kodiak, however, jumped on the thing and ripped it to shreds. Troy laments that he did not use better chain-mail for the suit and plans to try again in 2002.
