Film dipicting Bert and Ernie as gay lovers yanked from film festival
The producers of “Sesame Street,” have prevented a gay-themed parody about the Muppet roommates from screening in Cleveland.
“Ernest and Bertram,” a short film that portrays the characters as gay lovers, was yanked from the lineup of the Cleveland International Film Festival after lawyers from the Sesame Workshop threatened legal action. Sesame Productions was most disturbed by the 8-minute film showing Ernest shooting himself in the head after a fight with Bertram.
