Ted Demme’s death linked to cocaine
Director Ted Demme had cocaine in his system when he collapsed and died from a heart attack on a basketball court last month, and the stimulant may have been a factor in his death, coroner’s officials said Saturday.
Demme had thickened heart arteries, and died when a blood clot formed in a heart vessel. The cocaine in his body could have been a factor in the fatal heart attack.
The coroner has ruled it an accidental death.
