Disney board to consider buyout of Pixar
Walt Disney’s board of directors is expected to meet by Monday to consider buying Pixar Animation Studios Inc in a plan to retake the throne as the king of animation. The purported 6.7 billion dollar stock deal would make Pixar CEO Steve Jobs Disney’s biggest shareholder. Disney has struggled in the animation industry lately with flops like Home on the Range and Valiant. Pixar, on the other hand, has had an unbroken string of box office hits including Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles.
