Sony antipiracy software uses stolen code
The technology that Sony BMG used to prevent piracy of audio CDs is itself based on stolen code. The developer of Sony’s rootkit antipiracy software is believed to have included software that is governed by the General Public License. Under the terms of the General Public License, they are required to release the software the uses the code but haven’t done so.
