New Orleans told last year disaster assistance could take days
After a catastrophic hurricane drill by FEMA last year, the then-deputy director of the Louisiana emergency preparedness department told a newspaper that New Orleans residents would be on there own for several days. In a worst-case scenario, the director said, there would only be so much the government could do.
