Mescal worm gets to stay in bottle
A Mexican government ban on putting worms in bottles of mescal, a cheaper variant of tequila, was overturned at the last minute. It was estimated that the change would have hurt sales of exported mescal by as much as 70 percent. Premium mescal is already catching some of tequila’s wave and acceptance as a serious, high-quality drink.
