Democracy seminar ends in brawl
A public seminar on democracy in Indonesia degenerated into a brawl after the head of the Law Students Association, Dipa, called for the dissolution of the Muslim Students’ Organisation (HMI), describing its members as the “henchmen” of former dictator Suharto.
The speaker had glasses and chairs hurled at him, was attacked with shoes, and was chased out of the building.
