Scientists may treat Parkinson’s Disease with Sonic Hedgehog
A new study at Toronto’s Western Hospital suggests that increasing the amount of a brain protein named Sonic Hedgehog could be a potential treatment for Parkinson’s Disease. Sonic Hedgehog is found in the area of the brain that controls movement and it influences activity in the part of the brain known to be hyperactive in people with Parkinson’s.
