Mayor slaps driver for refusing orders
Pune, India’s Mayor, Datta Gaikwad, slapped the driver of his official car across the face for objecting to the use of the vehicle for the mayor’s electoral campaign.
Drivers of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) vehicles went on a flash strike on Thursday morning after the incident.
The strike by the drivers, which got the ruling Congress party members jittery, was called off after two hours when the mayor tendered an unconditional apology.
