Researcher creates 3D display using cellophane
A researcher has successfully constructed a 3D display using a laptop computer screen and a roll of cellophane. The researcher needed so-called half-wave plates, which rotate the polarization of light, and ultimately found that a certain brand of cellophane gift wrap beat out high-tech alternatives.
