Mariah Carey paid $50 million to stop singing
Singer Mariah Carey (no relation to Drew or Jim) will receive £35million ($50,000,000 US) to not make any more records for the Virgin label.
The EMI corporation, which owns Virgin, saw what a huge money-sucking loser her last album, Glitter, was and decided to cut their losses. The deal gets them off the hook from a five-album deal.
