Man spends 31 years in prison for practical joke
A Toronto man is free on bail Tuesday after spending 31 years in prison for a crime he confessed to as a joke. He confessed to a killing in 1972 but soon recanted. An examination of records from the period show police backed up his alibi at the time of the murder.
