Iraq claims they control newly named Baghdad International Airport
Iraq’s Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf Saturday claimed Saddam’s forces still control Saddam International Airport despite the fact that coalition forces seized and now occupy the facility and renamed it Baghdad International Airport. Captain Frank Thorp, spokesman for U.S. Central Command, called the claim “groundless.”
